Nora Burnham, LCSW

Licensed Therapist

Do life’s challenges feel overwhelming? Are you feeling disconnected from yourself, others, and the world? Are you trying to manage uncertainty, emotional discomfort, and distressing events all on your own? I work with adolescents and adults that are seeking support while they navigate difficult life transitions, healing from trauma, identity and gender exploration, anxiety, depression, and family conflict among other challenges. It is my hope that we can work together to identify patterns in your life that no longer serve you, build on your positive values, discover your existing skills, and learn new techniques to work through life’s challenges.

My working style utilizes a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to focus on growth and healing. In therapy, I use a blend of evidence-based therapies tailored to your individual goals and needs such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and mindfulness.

I seek to meet each person where they're at and take the perspective that people are influenced by their environment and the social, cultural, and political systems they live within. You can expect me to balance humor, warmth, and radical empathy within the therapeutic relationship. My goal that we work together to create a space that is safe to both experience vulnerability and build empowerment.
